Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am a 23-year-old male with a weight of 57 kilograms and a height of five feet six inches. I have severe constipation for the past three to four months. I consulted a doctor and my problem got resolved after taking medications. Now, I have heaviness in my stomach with occasional burning sensations. After eating, I have bloating and I have trouble while walking and doing activities that move my abdomen. I feel it across my entire abdomen and chest. I have done an ultrasound and X-ray of the chest twice. The reports were normal. Based on my experience, I have problems with my abdominal tissues and muscles. Will a CT scan help me in detecting my problem?
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern. Yes, CT (computed tomography) scan helps to diagnose the problem. As you have constipation, you can have heaviness associated with it. You need to change your diet and taking medications for constipation help to resolve these symptoms. I suggest you take a high fiber diet such as bananas, papayas, oranges, and vegetables. This helps you a lot and you will not have fullness. Apart from diet, you can take tablet Pantoprazole 40 mg once a day before taking meals for three days. Do not sleep immediately after eating. Go for a walk and drink enough fluids. Please mention whether you still have constipation. Revert me with the reports to guide you further.
