I have the feeling like I need to pass stool the whole day. Is this due to constipation?

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have constipation for several years, sometimes I get my bowls empty naturally, but most of the time, it always feels like I did not do it completely. Also, I have the urge to pass stool only in the morning, and the whole day I feel like I need to pass stool, but it just does not come out. I have gone to some small clinics before, but they gave me pills for one to two days. Is there any way to cure this issue permanently? Kindly help me.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

As for your history concerned, having constipation in 26 years need to rule out. Do you have any thyroid issues? If so, are you using any medication for thyroid? If you do not have thyroid, get a thyroid profile T3, T4, TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone), and serum electrolytes. Moreover, do not strain forcefully in the washroom. That could lead to hemorrhoids (piles). After getting reports, consult a nearby doctor, or you can send an image of reports to me. Avoid Non-vegetarian food. Drink plenty of oral fluids. Take a high-fiber diet. I suggest you take syrup Lactihep (Lactitol and Benzoic acid) 20 ml at night and Lactifiber powder (Ispaghula Husk and Lactitol) teaspoons In a glass of water twice a day. I hope this was helpful.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you.

I have already done a thyroid test recently as per my gynecologist's suggestion and also did a blood test and stool test in the past two months to check. I have attached reports, and let me know if I should start the above-suggested medicines immediately to cure this issue. My gynecologist has suggested I take Cremaffin plus two spoons every night before sleeping. I am having it but still cannot clear the bowls every day, and I do not push it. One more thing to admit I am only able to pass stool in the morning. After that whole day, I feel an urge to pass, sometimes gas and bloating issues, but never pass the stool on another time of day.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Your thyroid, stool, CBP (complete blood picture) reports are normal (attachments are removed to protect the patient's identity). So do not get worried. Passing stool once a day is fine. You can continue the above prescription. Do not get confused. Among what your gynecologist prescribed Cremaffin plus (Liquid Paraffin, Magnesium Hydroxide, Sodium Picosulphate) and what I suggested syrup Lactihep (laxative) you can use anyone. But you need to take 20 ml at night. Lactifiber powder (dietary fiber) in two teaspoons in a glass of water twice a day. For gas related issues, I suggest the following:

1) Tablet Pantop-D SR (Pantoprazole+Domperidone) daily in the morning, half an hour before breakfast for 14 days.

2) Tablet Unienzyme (Activated Charcoal 75 mg, Fungal diastase 100 mg, Papain 60 mg) morning and evening for five days.

Drink plenty of oral fluids, four liters in a day. As soon as you get up after having face wash, take 700 ml of water, and have a brisk walk for 15 minutes, then you move to the washroom. Avoid non-vegetarian food. Take a high-fiber diet. Avoid straining activity. I hope this was helpful.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you.

I will go through the above instructions and the prescribed medicines, but I am already taking treatment for my period regularity. My gynecologist has suggested me one medicine as per the attached screenshot for three months. So should I start your prescribed medications now, or do I need to wait till my gynecologist treatment completes? Kindly give your opinion.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You can use the above medication and the gynecologist medications (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). You can start both prescriptions. There is nothing to get worried about. I hope this was helpful.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
