Hello doctor,

My sister has been constipated for several weeks. And now she has on and off fever for three days, but she took the medication on the second day only when I found out that she has a fever. I gave her Biogesic every four hours. Is it alright to give her Bioflu? She has proteinuria thus has maintenance for kidney, blood pressure, and diabetes. What should I do? Please advise.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. Do not give every four hours, give only twice or once. If no fever, then you should not give.

Apart from that, along with Biogesic give tablet Pantoprazole 40 mg once a before meal.

Is she still constipated? Does she have fever throughout the day? What other medications she is taking currently? What is her blood pressure? Please let me know so I can prescribe you medicine accordingly.

Thank you doctor,

Her bowel is watery because we gave her virgin coconut oil and Dolcolux. Yes, she has a fever almost throughout the day. Sometimes it became normal, but after several hours even after taking Paracetamol, it went up again. Today morning her temperature is 37.9 and blood pressure is 126/70.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Give her enough fluids such as juices and water because, as you mentioned, she has watery diarrhea, and there is fluid loss, which leads to dehydration. So fluids should be given in a good amount.

Give Pantoprazole 40 mg once a day before a meal, Paracetamol as I mentioned when needed but not more than two to three times. Her BP is normal. Fever will be fine in a few days.

Please give proper diet and fluids. If she has a sore throat, cough, or anything, then please let me know. How many times a day she had diarrhea?
