Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 21-year-old female. My partner and I were intimate and he came on my hands. We were sitting side by side and there was no genital contact. There was also no fingering or intercourse. I then proceeded to wash my hands with running water and some bodywash gel. I then washed down there using a jet spray and one hand only on the outsides and did not do fingering while washing either. Is there a risk of pregnancy? I also took an Ipill within three hours after that. Please do help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

There is no risk of pregnancy as intercourse was not resorted to. Also before touching your genitals, you washed with soap which would have killed the sperms right away. There was no requirement of taking an Ipill, but now that you have taken it, it is just double protection and you should wait for your withdrawal bleed in the next few days. Once the bleed starts it would mean endometrial shed and indicate that you are pregnancy safe. There are possibilities that you may face some side effects due to high dose Progesterone like a headache, nausea, bloating before the bleed, but that is normal and can be countered by increasing your water intake till the bleeding starts.

Take care.
