Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 17-year-old female and was involved in intercourse two months back with my boyfriend. We used protection once in three times, but at all three times, he did not ejaculate inside me. I have also taken plan B pills. I took three plan B pills in a period of a week or two. I got my period seven days after the last pill and the pregnancy test came out negative. That was my last period and my periods have been missing since then. I have gained weight due to overconsumption of junk food. I have no symptoms of pregnancy but I'm still stressed that I will be pregnant. Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

Since you have taken the Plan B (Levonorgestrel) pill within 72 hours of intercourse, then there is no chance of pregnancy. Also, as you have mentioned that you had periods after that, you can be sure that you are not pregnant. The delay could be because of hormonal changes due to the pill you have taken. I advise you to follow the below-mentioned instructions.

  1. Get a blood test for pregnancy done to ensure that you are not pregnant.
  2. You should be getting your periods within a week or 10 days. However, if you donot get periods, take medications for withdrawal bleeding.
  3. Kindly provide the report results to guide you better.
  4. I hope this information will help you.

    Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
