Is having fever and lower back pain after the second dose of Sinovac a cause of concern?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I recently took a second dose of Sinovac, but I got a fever and lower back pain after two days. I took Biogesic, but when the effect of Biogesic comes down, all the symptoms revert. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Fever after the vaccine is a very common side effect. Almost 70% of people experience it. Fever goes away within four to five days. I suggest take, Tablet Naprosyn (Naproxen) 500mg for fever and lower back pain. This drug is a pain killer as well as anti-pyretic. The symptoms will be there for three to four days. I suggest you take this tablet in case of severe symptoms. There is no need for any investigations.
