How to relieve COVID-19 symptoms?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I tested positive for COVID-19 last night. I have a cold and mild cough as symptoms and quarantined myself at home.

Kindly advise medications.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Please share your laboratory report.

Do you have fever and breathlessness accompanying the symptoms?

Do you have diabetes, hypertension, kidney disease, or heart disease?

I would suggest to go for some blood tests such as complete blood count (CBC), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), C-reactive protein, D-dimer test, hemoglobin A1C (HbA1C) test, and random blood sugar (RBS) test.

The current strain is causing primarily mild symptoms, but considering the age group, precautions relating to comorbidities need to be taken.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for your answer.

I do not have any such diseases. Yesterday afternoon, I have a fever of around 100.1 degrees Fahrenheit post which I took Paracetamol. No temperature after that. The day before yesterday I had breathlessness. When I talk, I had to stop and take deep breaths. But I do not have that problem since yesterday. I will attach the report once again shortly.

Please find the blood test that I have taken the day before yesterday.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

If it is less than seven days of detection, I would recommend certain approved antivirals for COVID-19 and certain other supportive medications. Kindly consult with your doctor and take the medicine with their consent.

Thank you.
