Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Today is the 17th day after the COVID-19 positive result. I have breathing difficulties, cough and think it has reduced now. I consulted a doctor on 15 th day. According to the doctor, my chest is clear and my blood report are fine.

In the past 15 days, I contacted hospital for admission and according to them I need to stay back at home only and no admission is required.

According to the health check done several years back, doctor said I have COPD. But I did not faced anything problematic at least for the last seven years. I am allergic and have bronchial issue according to doctor. But in the last seven years I did not had any treatment for this. How many day I need to complete from the current stage so that I am safe?

I am 47 years old. My weight is 72 kg and my height is 6 feet. I am healthy. I am a non smoker, non drinker, and did not have any critical illness.

During the past 17 days of Corona infection, I had the following vitamins:

a) Vitabiotics Osteocare (Calcium, Magnesium, Vitamin D and Zinc) -- two times daily for 10 days.

b) Vitamin C for 10 days (two times daily).

c) Riconia Vitamin tablet from 11 th day until today.

In the last one year I am not having any sunlight and I know I have Vitamin D3 deficiency. Please suggest a safest way to have the above Vitamins without any complexity or issues atleast for the next 10 days.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your problem. Do not worry. Usually the incubation period is around 14 days.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Please reply to my vitamin query.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Prognosis depends upon the CT severity score, serum procalcitonin, serum ferritin levels, CRP (C-reactive protein), ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate), D-dimer levels.

Yes, you can take a multivitamin, tablet Limcee 500 mg twice a day for three weeks, tablet Zinc 50 mg twice a day for three to four weeks.

Osteocare already contains vitamin D 200 IU, so there is no need to take extra vitamin D. If you are severely vitamin D deficient, you may take capsule D rise 60k IU once a week for five weeks. Rivonia also has vitamin D and calcium levels.

But in COVID-19 patients, Vitamin D, Zinc, and Vitamin C are enough to fight with virus. So many studies have done that intake of a multivitamin may not cause side effects. If you take Riconia once daily dose may not cause many side effects. We have treated many critical cases during the COVID-19 period. So do not worry.

Please check your saturation regularly. Take rest, drink warm water regularly. Do steam inhalation thrice a day after a week.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Please refer to the attached report and tell do I need to take any medical check-up now? Am I in the recovery stage? Can I have one tablet OsteoCare and one tablet of Rivonia daily. Please confirm. No need to take Vitamin D3 separately. Am I right? The attached report contains 1st, 5th, and 15th-day reports.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Your investigations look good (attachment removed to protect patient identity). Meaning there is no inflammation in your body. Yes, you are in the recovery stage. But please get it done repeat serum ferritin levels again because it is a little on the higher side.

Yes, you may have both tablets, no problem. Intake of vitamin D separately depends upon your present serum vitamin D levels. If your vitamin D levels are less than 30 ng/dl, then you have to take vitamin D separately.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

What is the safest way to take the 2000 IU Vitamin D3 for the next ten days? Once I am ready to go out, I will take the test for Vitamin D3. I will have Osteocare and Riconia. When can I do mild yoga or exercises (home-based)?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You can take it once a day. Yes, you can do pranayama at home.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I am a COVID-19 patient and today is 20th day. I am staying alone so I need to cook alone. If I make vegetable soup, is it fine to get enough nutrition. Is it fine to take only soup water or I need to eat vegtables in the soup? Actually, I do not have any taste or good appitite.

My one day food routine is

7:00 AM - One spoon of amal powder with honey.

8:00 Am - Onion uthappam from hotel or rava masala dosa.

9:00 AM - lemon juice with honey and ginger, garlic, cardamom, and clove.

11:30 AM - mutton or chicken cream soup from hotel.

1:30 PM - rice with some curries (only 4 to 5 spoons).

3:30 PM - milk with turmeric.

5:00 PM - two to three pieces of almonds, three dates, one dried figs, one dried apricot, three pistas, and a small quantity of pine seed.

7:30 PM - only have soup water not vegetables.

8:30 PM - one boiled egg.

9:30 PM - rice with some curries (only 4 to 5 spoons).

Day time I have 3 to 3.5 liters of hot water. Please help, the above quantity is fine. My question more about my vegetable soup. Is it fine to have only water?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You can have vegetable soup, sweet corn soup, chicken soup, and mushroom soup. Yes, you can eat vegetables in the soup after boiling water. Avoid sweets and ghee because sugar can suppress immunity. You can take probiotics capsules or powder after with vegetable soup. Because probiotics improve gut immunity, and vegetables that you are taking act as a base to proliferate in your gut. And yes, up to 3-4 liters of fluid per day is sufficient to washout the toxins from your body.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Does the above-mentioned diet is fine as of now for the next 15 days? What could harm in ghee? Instead of ghee, can I use olive oil to prepare the soup? Tomorrow is my 21st day after COVID-19. When can we say that I am recovered from COVID-19?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Yes, your diet is good for the next fifteen days. Ghee acts as a culture media for a few bacteria in the throat and aggravates chest symptoms. You may use olive oil or other oils. If you are feeling symptoms free, repeat COVID RT PCR negative test. Also, inflammatory markers (CRP, serum ferritin, ESR, D-dimer, and procalcitonin) show within normal limits, and then you are called recovered.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

So the 14th-day survival, 21 days survival, etc., is not a basic benchmark for the COVID-19 recovery? I head that the blood parameter are stay some period of time. The last blood test I have is on the 15th day, and also PCR got positive. When will I need to do for the next blood test? I still have a mild cough three times a day and a mild breathing problem. Do I need to do the blood test again? What is your opinion about my recovery?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I have seen all reports (attachment removed to protect patient identity). That time your report is normal. The virus may not survive after three weeks. But there will be inflammation even after COVID-19 recovery. That is why I have told you to get repeat blood investigations.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

The last test was on the 15th day. Can you suggest when I need to go for the next blood test?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You can repeat it at 28th day.

Patient's Query

Dear Doctor, As your suggestion, if the pain not reduced in 5 days consult a doctor. I went to a good doctor. I explained my problem of pain. According to doctor, a) No medicine required b) Seems everything is normal c) About more investigation about pain, then need to take CT Scan which is not recommended now I went again 2 time.. doctor said the same. Today I went to another doctor. He said a) every thing normal b) He checked with stethoscope and told that there is some allergic problem c) Also my eosinophilia is little elevated He give the following medicine. Do let me know Shall I go ahead with this medicine. Next week I am planning to come my native (another country), I my phytologically improve a) Inahaler (2 time a day) for 30 days https://www.1mg.com/drugs/foracort-inhaler-200-147935 b) Tablet -- Airfast ( 1 in night) for 20 days https://www.webmd.com/drugs/2/drug-6478-8277/montelukast-oral/montelukast-oral/details Please guide me about the medicine and your openion? Regards, I have another inhaler which I was used in the 5 days of covid period. https://gskpro.com/content/dam/global/hcpportal/en_PH/Pdf/Homepage/digital/Ventolin%20Inhaler.pdf This was not given by any doctor. Please guide me which one is safe to use out of these 2 inhalers?

dear do you feeling any breathing difficulty?? the inhaler which your using ventolin contain only bronchodilator. But the foracort inhaler contain both bronchodilator and steroid. So foracort is for more better than ventolin.

Patient's Query

Frankly telling doctor, During the cold climate I have some symptoms... and seems mild or something...but I went to doctor for that pain. That mean Breathing difficulty is not the primary.... So you suggest to have the inhaler as of now.. right? what about the tablet I mentioned ealier? Do I need to physically consult another doctor? Please guide.. I meant to say I dont have moderate or severe breathing problem. Mild may be there as usual in the winter time. Doctor find the breathing issue by checking with steatoscope... this is what he said
dear for mild breathing problem no need of bronchodilator. Just you can use tablet monterleukast and levocetrizine at night. tablet deriphylline retard 150 mg twice a day for five days. tablet defcort 6 mg twice a day for one week is sufficient. I already told ghee, cool drinks may aggravate the problem. if you're allergic then better to avoid above in rainy and winter seasons.

Patient's Query

You meant to say both the tablet I need to have monterleukast and levocetrizine?
No both is come as a single tablet tablet L montus

Patient's Query

I have another question: Next week I am travelling to native (another country). I have Senior Citizens and 1 infant in my home. Am I still infectious? any precautions?

No your not infectious. Now your present condition due to allergy. So it is not contagious.

Patient's Query

Also thanks for your recommendations for not having cool drinks and ghee. I didnt started ghee. Last 5 year I never had cold items. Winter seasons is my enemy . Rainfly seasons suits very well for me. *Rainy
ok take care.

Patient's Query

One more question doctor.... Now i can stop monitoring the Oximeter parameter checking at home right? Usually I do 2 to 3 times a day and still doing..
now no need dear but you can keep it with you.

Patient's Query

Dear Doctor, I reached my home town for 1 month leave. I was in quarantine for 7 days. The quarantine report (RT-PCR) will get tomorrow in India. When I visit to take the RT-PCR, I took the basic health check package. Please find the attached report and let me know, Do I need to consult doctor at Hospital for any and awaiting your feedback. (lamb meat 1 small piece daily) d) Milk one cup daily e) Vegetable soup daily Can I start mild to moderate exercise or walk?

You can get RT PCR report when ever they give. Yes you can do exercise regularly. But better to avoid cold climate exercise.

Patient's Query
