Can a dental crown be shaped to match adjacent teeth?

Hi doctor,

I have six upper teeth on the left side. My dentist gave me a partial denture. I have four implants on my lower jaw to support the lower denture. Before three weeks, my dentist made a crown for the front tooth due to dental caries. The dental assistant said that the crown appeared long. When I discussed this with my friend, I realized that a part of the crown was protruding. I went to the clinic before two weeks. The dentist told me the problem was due to the adjacent rotated tooth and adjusted the crown accordingly.

However, it is not aligned with other teeth and hits the lower implant hard. After a week, I asked the dentist to remove the crown and suggested a new crown. He enquired with the dental assistant whether the issue had arisen before. I got an injury on my lips when he used an explorer. My other tooth chipped off a few months ago. Now the dentist says that adjustments can make the tooth weak. I think he has smoothened the protruding part of the tooth with difficulty. I am not satisfied with the treatment.

You might have dentinal hypersensitivity due to the trimming of natural teeth. Excess trimming can lead to fracture, chipping, or cracking, particularly if the opposing teeth have a bridge.
