Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Recently, I had a dental crown placed on my first upper premolar tooth. Now, food gets stuck between it. My second premolar tooth also has a crown. When I use floss between them, I hear a clicking sound. What is the solution? Kindly suggest.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern.
You have food lodgement. Your crown has not been made properly. Kindly send an image of the area where the food gets accumulated and I will also inspect the crown. Flossing is a good habit. But, a new crown should not have this issue. You can use Betadine mouthwash (Povidone-iodine). Gargle your mouth with lukewarm water two to three times a day. Avoid eating sticky or sweet foods. You need to replace the crown to eliminate the gap. Kindly send more details regarding the clicking sound. Clicking sound between the crown indicates a loose crown. Kindly send the image and mark the area to get exact details of the situation.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
