Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
My root canal treatment has finished today and I got a cap on my tooth. My dentist said to eat food from the other side today, and from tomorrow both sides can be used. I think my cap is a little up and I have not eaten food from both sides. So I made a decision, if it does not get better by tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, I will go to the dentist and get it sharpened.
Please advise if that would be fine.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
The root canal treatment was done today itself, and you are feeling the cap placed on the tooth is a little high. I would say its a very common feeling when we get some new object in our mouth that our body is not used to, it feels different. It is a very wise decision you have made to give it time of two days to adjust.
Even after two days, if you feel the same height and are not able to chew like before or you get any kind of pain, visit your dentist and get the height reduced. To answer your question, no, you will not have any pain while your dentist reduces the height. You will only feel pressure, which will not cause any discomfort. So, there is no need to worry if it is not feeling normal. You can get it reduced without any fear of pain.
I hope that you get your answer.
Please let me know if you want some help.
Thank you.
