Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

When my bladder is full, I feel pressure and mild pain in my right iliac region. Also, I have a frequent urge to urinate, gas and farting, and constipation. The complaints have been present for more than a year. The pain gets reduced after urination and passing a stool. I have undergone a CT scan and ultrasound. My RA factor, cholesterol, and triglyceride levels are normal. I currently use cream Mycoril (Clotrimazole) and tablet Pruvict 1 (Prucalopride).

Kindly advise.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. I have reviewed your reports (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). Your CT (computed tomography) scan and ultrasound reports are normal, so they rule out internal organ pathology. Do mention the size of the prostate gland. Pain while the bladder fills can be due to cystitis, an inflammation of the bladder's muscular wall. The condition requires a physical examination by a urologist, including a rectal examination of the prostate. Cystitis is treated with a course of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medications. In addition, medicines called anticholinergics are used to treat the refractory problem of urine frequency. Sometimes, a cystoscopy test is needed for diagnosis as cystoscopy is the only method that examines the bladder and prostate from inside the body. For bloating and constipation, I suggest you change your diet. Avoid fermented and baked foods and increase fresh salads and fruits in the diet.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
