Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have dark circles under my eyes. Kindly suggest a permanent solution for the same. Thank you.

Answered by Dr. Shama Naaz

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read the query, and I can understand your concern. Dark circles can be due to several reasons like lack of sleep or poor sleeping habits, hyperpigmentation, reduced tissues or fat around the eyes, anemia, hereditary, thinning of the skin, prominent veins, and sun exposure. Creams can solve some periorbital pigmentation, and some need cosmetic procedures. So please send a photograph of the skin condition to give advice accordingly. I hope this will help you. Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the reply. Can you suggest remedies without the photo? With my previous consultation, my vitamin D and B12 were very low. I have been using ACM DPI white eye contour gel for the last six months, but no results. I am working late hours, but now I have taken a break from my job and got enough sleep for the past ten months, but still no improvement in the under-dark eye circles. Please help. Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I have read the query, and I can understand your concern. Vitamin B12 and D deficiency are associated with dark circles. So you should eat healthy food rich in vitamins like meat, fish, milk, cheese, eggs, and fortified breakfast cereals. For sun protection, use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF (sun protection factor) of 30 and above, and it is applied 30 minutes before going outside. I suggest a tablet of Limcee (Vitamin C) 500 mg daily after food. Apply Eyez (Aqua, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Dipeptide-2 Palmitoyl) under eye gel at night. Apply it by gently massaging your under-eye skin for 30 to 60 seconds daily. If the shape of your orbit looks hollow, with prominent cheekbones, then you probably will need cosmetic procedures like fillers. Consult a specialist doctor, talk to them, and then take the medication. Some lifestyle changes including adequate sleep, sleeping early, and reducing screen time, can help. Avoid rubbing your eyes and apply cold compresses to help relax your skin. Drink plenty of water. I hope this will help you. Thank you.
