Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have sensitive skin, and as a kid, I would go for vacations, and at that time, I did not know the importance of sunscreen, so every time I would return home, my skin would be sensitive to touch, and it peeled. The more I went, the darker my skin became, and now I do not go as often, but my skin is still dark in color in certain areas. So my skin is noticeably in two different tones, one light, and the other dark. My natural color was on the lighter side.

How do I get back to my original color?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

From your history, it sounds like frequent tanning, in which case, you may use fresh lime juice, orange peel, or tomato paste to soothe the tanned surfaces. If done regularly, it can help restore the lighter tone somewhat.

However, I need to confirm if there is any fungal infection like pityriasis versicolor, which sounds a lot like your symptoms.

A picture would have helped to identify it for me.

If this is the case, you will need topical antifungals to treat it.

I hope this helps.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
