Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My friend had sex, the guy wore a condom but did not have intercourse. He was just near the skin of her outer skin of the vagina. He did not cum or ejaculate. For safety, my friend took pills on the fifth day after the sex. Now she is seven days late for her periods. She experiences mild back aches but there are other signs of periods. She has tried eating pineapple and papaya and coffee but still no progress. Today she experienced a white discharge which was somewhat light brown in color. Kindly suggest.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your query and understand your concern. According to your description, there is very little possibility of pregnancy and the emergency contraceptive pill will only work if you take it within 72 hours of intercourse, so as you took that after five days of the intercourse there was no use of that though, there was already very less possibility of pregnancy. Periods might get delayed by one or two weeks because of hormonal changes as you take the pill so I would suggest waiting for one more week. I hope this helps you.

Thank you.
