Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My periods have been delayed by two days. My cycle is of around 34 days. We did use a condom during intercourse. I have missed periods before, but this time it is concerning due to other factors. However, it is rare to miss it. It happens just once every year or sometimes twice. I am not on any medication yet, but I took Revital H for five days. However, I had my first intercourse two days prior to my period and bled for two days due to the hymen breaking (as the color of my blood was bright red). I have not got my period yet. What could it be?
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
Based on the information you have provided, there is a possibility that you could be pregnant. While condoms are a reliable form of contraception, they are not 100 % effective in preventing pregnancy. Additionally, it is possible to become pregnant even if you are not on your period. However, there are other factors that could be causing you to miss your period. Stress, changes in weight or exercise routines, and certain medical conditions can all affect menstrual cycles. The best way to determine whether or not you are pregnant is to take a pregnancy test. While false negatives and false positives can occur, modern pregnancy tests are generally accurate if used correctly. Also, I suggest you go for an ultrasound of the pelvis.
Hope this helps.
Thank you.
