Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am waiting for my period because I am going to start on hormones to freeze eggs. I did this some month ago also. And since then, my cycle has not been normal, and I am usually very regular. After this, I got on the period before a month and that lastet for two weeks. And since that nothing. I went to a gynecologist, and she said my endometrium was 14 mm, one cyst was cracked some days ago, and my period was just around the corner. That was one week ago. Is it possible that the endometrium has been this way for a long time, and my period is not around the corner?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

As rightly stated by your doctor, looking at your endometrial lining (14 mm) you should have got your periods by now. But it seems that you are having some hormonal imbalance (mostly less progesterone) which has led to a thickened endometrium but no periods as yet. By taking progesterone, you will get withdrawal bleeding (periods). Once you get your periods, please consult your fertility expert for further medications so that you can go ahead with the egg freezing. Take tablet Norethisterone acetate 5 mg three times a day for three days. You will get your periods in the next four to five days.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
