Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I had an intimate moment with my friend. But there was no full penetration. This happened two months back and now my period is delayed by 53 days. I have nausea, soft tender, and itchy breasts, headache, vaginal discharge, and lower abdominal cramps along with lower back pain. I took a Beta-Hcg test, 10 days after my missed periods date and the value was only 0.1. After one month, I had a very mild spot of bleeding and there was no bleeding after that. But all the symptoms still persist. Is there any chance of pregnancy?
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
I need a few more details like your last menstrual period, your normal cycle duration, and the date you got your hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) done.
Beta hCG is the most sensitive test to detect pregnancy. It usually comes positive within 10 to 14 days of conception. Since sperm can remain viable for five days in the reproductive tract so we can assume that if you would have conceived then it would have occurred by the last date two months back. And your beta hCG would have come positive two weeks after that. Since I do not know your test date so I cannot comment on that.
If you just had spotting then I would advise you to repeat either a home pregnancy test or beta hCG and if that is negative then you are not pregnant considering the fact that there was no sexual contact again.
Hope this helps.
Thanks and take care.
