Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had stopped taking I-pill. My periods got delayed but I am not really worried about pregnancy because I have not had any sexual intercourse since July. What could be the reason for this delay?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

I wanted to know how many emergency contraceptive pills have you consumed.

Emergency contraceptive pill consumption can cause irregular periods. So, if you had intercourse in July and no periods in August then you should check pregnancy first and then think about other causes as emergency contraceptive pill consumption can be failed. What is the date of the last period in July?

Kindly update us with the answers.

Thanks and regards.

Patient's Query

I had taken 3 pills in the duration of 6 months. I did not consume an I-pill for the past three to four months.

Please help.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have mentioned earlier that I did not consume any pills from April to July and got my periods in a natural way. I had checked for pregnancy in July since my periods were delayed, and it came back negative. Then I got my period. After that, I did not have any sexual intercourse but my period was delayed.

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I suggest you do a blood test to check pregnancy. Bleeding can come even if you are pregnant. So, I recommend you to confirm it by blood test. if it comes negative then the cause may be Irregularities due to hormonal imbalances such as thyroid profile irregularities, prolactin level, stress, etc.

Hope it helps.

Thanks and regards.
