Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

After getting veneers, can I eat anything I used to eat with natural teeth? Will I be able to brush my teeth normally? After putting veneers, do they fall? Can you please explain the procedure for veneers?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

You can eat everything with veneers, but a few things should be avoided, such as hard food and alcoholic beverages, as they can loosen the bond, and dark liquids like black tea and coffee should be used in moderation. You can brush normally as you do with your natural teeth and it is imperative to maintain good oral hygiene. They do not usually fall once it has been properly placed. The lifespan of veneers, on average, is about 10 to 15 years. The procedure is basically a part of the outer enamel is removed from the front side of the tooth, and a veneer is placed on it. So unlike a normal crown where the tooth is reduced from all sides, for veneers, only the front of the tooth is reduced, and that too is very minimal (around 0.5 mm). Hope I have answered all your queries.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

What kind of veneers are good? How much will be the cost of veneers? Do I need to replace them after ten years? After treatment, if we touch our veneered teeth, will they come out?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Porcelain veneers are better as it is more durable and resist stains much more than composite veneers. The cost of each porcelain veneer can be somewhere around 8000 rupees. If you maintain good oral hygiene, it can last for more than ten years, but if you notice stains or any other concerns, it might need to be replaced. The veneer would not come out by touching it, as it is permanently fixed on the teeth. I would recommend you visit a prosthodontist who specializes in crowns and bridges. Once they evaluate your teeth, you will be given a choice that is best for you.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

Does one porcelain veneer per tooth cost 8000 rupees or one jaw?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Porcelain veneers per tooth cost around 6000 rupees. It depends on the clinic and the city. The treatment remains the same, but the price varies. You can visit your nearby dentist and enquire about the present rates there.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

Doing bleaching for fluorosis teeth is enough, or should I do veneers? I am attaching pictures for your reference.

Kindly suggest.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Bleaching is usually not advised for fluorosis teeth as it can make the spots more pronounced. Veneers are the best option. But to evaluate the prognosis of other treatment options, it is better to visit a dentist and get your teeth evaluated. The image that you have attached (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity) is not clear; it is grainy.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

I have sent a clear picture of it.

Kindly check.

Thank you.

Hello,

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

I consulted my local dentist, who suggested that veneers are a waste treatment. It will break easily if I eat non-veg like chicken. What do you suggest? Will the veneers break after one month? Can veneers last for more than ten years?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

As he said that veneers could not be considered for the treatment, what other treatment options did he suggest?

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

He suggested not to do anything, leaving them as they are, and suggested not to shave them as once you shave, you cannot get your teeth back. Then I asked him about bleaching treatment, to which he replied that bleaching teeth would not remove the stains altogether. There will only be a 10 % difference from now. My concern is, do the veneers break easily? Do they last for an extended period?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Veneers last for an extended period if maintained properly, like good oral hygiene and other instructions, which I mentioned earlier. Veneers will also help close the gap between your front two teeth.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

Do the veneers break easily? In what conditions do they break? After meeting my dentist, I lost hope.

Kindly suggest.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Veneers do not break that easily. Therefore, I would suggest you consult me via a video call wherein I can brief you on the different treatment options available, which we have spoken about until now, and also have a closer look at your teeth.

Thank you.
