Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am a 22 year old female. I started my treatment with braces at the age of 14 and it continued for around three years. Then, I used retainers for some time. I was told by my doctor that I have a small jaw and extracted four of my teeth. After getting the whole treatment done when I look into the mirror I see my jaw inclined due to which my face looks weird and not proportionate. The jawline and my teeth are still not aligned straight. I could not get the beautiful smile that I always admired. I do not want to go through the pain of braces again. Is there anything else I can do? And how long the procedure will be?
Please help.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
By looking at your pictures (attachment removed to protect patient identity), it seems that your orthodontic treatment was not successful. Now it seems that you have more problems in your lower jaw. So, it is better to correct lower teeth only. You should either try to put crowns (cap) over the lower central four teeth, or there is a method called veneering where we put a half cap over the front teeth on both upper and lower to give a good look to your smile.
Ask a specialist who is an endodontist to give veneers to the front six teeth on both the upper and lower jaw. The procedure veneering is a little bit costly but gives a very good aesthetic smile makeover. Your weight is also very low which means your overall bone growth is not up to the mark.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
