Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am 23-year-old female, I feel I am struggling with my mental health. I not been diagnosed with anything but runs in my family from depression to schizophrenia. But notice lot changes last few months. I do not feel as chatty or want to interact with people. Feel to much for me cope with. Definitely develop anxiety which I have fear doing things be simple wee things I freak out. But the last few weeks started hallucinations again seeing people smelling odd scents. Hearing people shout but no one was there. I had this in past years and feel the same episode I am having now. I do cannabis but I know this is not a problem cause I am only a social smoker and use it for no longer than a year using it. Pervious episodes happen when younger too and did take any medication or drugs. I now stop this cause feared was the problem but has not stopped. Scared talk to someone last time to explain they said straight-up depression saw a doctor since I think more than that. I do tend to forget reality and I have been confused and mixed up if it is real or not if something happened. Just now I am fully exhausted even though I sleep and eat well. I have lost a lot of weight as well. I genuinely do not feel myself anymore.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understand your concern. You have given a detailed description of your symptoms. I can understand your concern regarding your mental health. You are having positive family history for mental illness and initially you had symptoms of depression but now you are having hallucinations. Your history is clearly suggesting you are suffering from delusional psychotic disorders. Good thing is that you are having full insight of your illness so easy to cure with better prognosis. Right now you need some medications like Olanzapine or Aripirazole for minimum six months for early recovery. Psychoeducation and counselling will help you to cope up your stress without medications and will improve your mental health. I will suggest you to visit nearby psychiatrist for prescription drugs and counselling. Do not worry your disease is curable and easier to treat. Hope my answer helped you.
Thank you.
