Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My 68-year-old mother is a diabetic patient with a history of HbA1c level checked four months ago, which was 7.1. Her current fasting sugar level is 102. She experiences discomfort due to elevated sugar levels. She had angioplasty performed three years ago, with ongoing heart medications. Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understand your concern.
I have reviewed the report (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). It appears that there is an increase in both sugar and cholesterol levels. If your mother is not currently on medication, I would suggest her to start Tablet Glycomet (Glimepiride and Metformin) 500 mg once a day after food for the next 10 days. Consult your specialist doctor, talk to them, and then take the medications. After this period, kindly, recheck her sugar levels, both fasting (FBS) and postprandial (PPBS), and then we can review her progress.
Thank you.
