Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have been suffering from loose stool, watery with some feces, for four days. Yesterday, I took tablet O2 every eight hours. This morning, I continued the medicines Sporlac sachet, Redotil sachet, and tablet O2 till now. However, I have still not recovered yet.
Kindly help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understood your concern.
I have reviewed your case in detail and have examined the medicines you have used so far for acute diarrhea. In my opinion:
This seems to be an infected diarrhea, and a change of antibiotics may help. I suggest you take a tablet of Ciprofloxacin 250 milligrams twice daily after breakfast and dinner for three days, along with a tablet of Metronidazole 400 milligrams twice daily after breakfast and dinner for three days.
You can change your probiotics to a better one, such as an ampule 2B with 5 milliliters twice daily for five days.
In case of abdominal pain, you can add an anti-spasmodic such as a tablet of Mebeverine 135 milligrams twice daily as needed.
Dietary precautions include avoiding eating out and reheating food at home.
Acute diarrhea usually takes two to three days to resolve. If it does not resolve, I suggest investigations such as a detailed stool report and blood tests like complete blood count and C-reactive protein.
I hope that this answers your query.
Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.
Thank you.
