Is chronic constipation the reason for my stomach gas?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 27 years old. I have a problem clearing my tummy for two days. I have a gas problem in my stomach. Please help me.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

You are having a functional bowel problem. You can practice these steps to have proper digestion and gas relief. Avoid the intake of turnip, onion, cabbage, and cauliflower. These are gas-forming foods. Drink more water. Avoid having a sedentary lifestyle. You should stop the habit of smoking and try to avoid stress.

Take more green leafy vegetables and fruits. Avoid taking excess fatty foods. If there is no improvement, then a fiber supplement like Aristozyme (Pepsin and Diastase) can be taken. Moreover, Gelusil syrup (Aluminium hydroxide with Dimethicone) can also be taken for a short duration.

I hope this helps.

Kindly revert so I can assist you further.

Thank you.
