Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I got diplopia due to high diabetes. My eye doctor confirmed and asked me to consult after 40 days. Can it be cured? I got a headache initially, then the next day, and got this problem of diplopia. Please help.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
Diplopia, also known as double vision, is a symptom that occurs when you see two images instead of one. High blood sugar (diabetes) can contribute to the development of several eye conditions, including diabetic retinopathy, which can lead to diplopia in some cases. The underlying cause of your diplopia needs to be identified and addressed by an eye care professional. It is important to follow up with your eye doctor as recommended, as delaying treatment could potentially worsen the condition and lead to permanent vision loss. In some cases, diplopia caused by diabetes may be temporary and resolve on its own as blood sugar levels are managed. So yes, manage your blood sugar well.
To manage your diabetes and reduce the risk of further eye complications, it is important to follow a healthy diet, exercise regularly, monitor your blood sugar levels closely, and take medications as prescribed by your healthcare provider. Additionally, it is important to attend regular check-ups with your healthcare provider and eye doctor to monitor for any changes in your vision or diabetes management.
I hope this addresses your concern.
Revert in case of queries.
Take care.
