Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

A month ago, my husband developed double vision. He is still dealing with this issue. We noticed his left eyeball was not moving towards his nose and downwards. Some angels give him a single vision, while others give him a double vision. We have consulted a doctor and taken blood samples, and are now waiting for the CT scan appointment that the doctor recommended. Could you please assist us in this matter? I would like to know why my husband's vision suddenly changed. Is there anything else we should look into right away that has to do with the brain? Aside from the double vision, he has no headaches, nausea, or dizziness. We had a stressful and sleepless night as a result of this.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

This double vision, combined with limited movement, suggests third nerve palsy. It usually occurs when the blood supply to the third nerve is compromised (ischemia) or when it becomes compressed due to any mass (intra-cranial space-occupying lesion). It is most commonly associated with microangiopathies, such as hypertension and diabetes. As a result, get tested for these. This nerve palsy usually recovers, but it improves faster if the underlying cause is addressed. In the case of syndromic associations, it may be associated with other neural deficits, so we must look for them as well. Again, the cause determines the prognosis. Review back with reports.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
