What is the effective treatment for a drug reaction to Tramadol?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 47-year-old female, and I had severe nausea and could not move my fingers and arms. In addition, I was feeling cold and felt dizzy. A friend took me to the hospital, where they asked me about my current medications. I told them I had started Tramadol the night before. After a blood test and EKG (electrocardiogram), they figured it was a reaction to the new drug.

My D-dimer was high at 2.3; I had a CT (computed tomography) scan for PE (pulmonary embolism) and found nothing. So they gave me Ativan (lorazepam) and sent me home.

  1. Is that okay?
  2. Do I need a second opinion?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I reviewed your pictures (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity), and the problem can be fixed. So, I suggest you to consult a dentist. They will perform some cleaning procedures and prescribe medicines that work simultaneously. So do not worry, as this infection will not last long.

I suggest you to maintain good oral hygiene and use mouthwash after brushing twice daily.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.
