Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Before 20 days ago, I noticed an appearance of white skin on my left elbow. I thought it was due to change of weather. My left elbow had few changes in skin color when compared to the right elbow. My body is weak and lean. I have attached the picture to you. Is this a skin disease or not? Please help me.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. I have gone through the attachment (attachment removed to protect patient identity). It does not look like a severe problem. So there is no need to worry. There are drying and flaky scaling of the skin in the elbow area. It is a simple problem of dry skin due to change of weather. I advise you apply some natural moisturizer like pure almond oil.

Alternatively, this can also be a condition called psoriasis, but it does not look like it. It is a treatable condition, and there is no need to worry. Psoriasis can also occur in people who are stressed. So I advise you reduce your stress, drink lots of water and try natural moisturizers. If there is no change in two to three weeks, meet your dermatologist for a direct clinical examination.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
