Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My wisdom tooth was extracted a week ago. Even after taking Acetaminophen (Tylenol) and Ibuprofen tablets, the pain did not subside. Due to pain, I am unable to sleep.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern.

You may have a dry socket infection, caused due to the loss of blood clot in the extracted area.

I suggest you follow a few instructions mentioned below.

  1. Use warm salt water gargle twice daily for a week to get some relief.
  2. Visit your dentist for cleaning and debridement of the wound.
  3. Take antibiotics tablets like Augmentin (Amoxicillin and Potassium Clavulanate) along with painkillers. Consult a specialist doctor, talk with them, and take medications with their consent.

I hope this has helped you.

Thanks and regards.
