Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been experiencing a gurgling feeling in my stomach. It has been happening since COVID for the past three months. I have visited a general physician who suggested me to take the tablet Omeprazole. I have no real pain other than a tightened feeling in my stomach. The bowel is all normal. But I have health anxiety, and I am worried if this is cancer. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

This gurgling feeling is usually due to dysbiosis and not due to cancer. I suggest you take probiotics and tablet Rifaximin (antibiotic) 550 mg three times daily after meals for ten days. Also, continue doing regular exercise, meditation, and yoga; avoid oily and spicy food and avoid anxiety and stress. You will feel better.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My doctor suggested me the same. I want to ask you whether anxiety causes the gurgling and tight feeling in the belly. Please suggest.

Answered by Dr. Jagdish Singh

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Yes, anxiety is also one factor that aggravates these gastric issues, for example, irritable bowel syndrome. That is why I suggested you do regular exercise, meditation, and yoga to avoid anxiety and stress. You will be fine.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
