Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It is common to have farts and burping. These are normal processes of the body by emitting gas produced in the small bowel. Excessive gas is produced due to two main reasons. The reasons are carbohydrate maldigestion and dysbiosis. Approximately, carbohydrate is the major component of our diet. It constitutes seventy percent of our diet. This carbohydrate is fermented by the bacteria in the small bowel and thus excessive gas is produced. For this, milk, wheat grain, and barley are some examples. You have to cut them to half to prevent having excessive gas production. You should avoid taking milk and milk-based dairy products like coffee, tea, ice cream, and sweets.

The other cause is dysbiosis. There is excessive gas production due to lack of lactobacillus that helps in digesting carbohydrates. This altered composition of bacteria occurs due to many factors such as antibiotic use, environmental influence, and diet. It can be treated by taking a ten-day antibiotic course. You can take tablet Rifaximin 500 mg twice daily for ten days. Follow it by using probiotics. It is a healthy bacteria and use it regularly for six months. Food modification can help to improve your symptoms. I suggest you start doing it. There are some tests for dysbiosis. It is tested by giving a stool sample for microbiota spectrum analysis.

The Probable causes:

You seem to have carbohydrate malabsorption and dysbiosis.

Probable diagnosis:

You have carbohydrate malabsoption and lactose intolerance.

Regarding follow up:

Have a follow-up at any time.
