Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have had ear pain for a week, so I used Cifrofloxacine drops and took tablets, but the pain persisted. Also, I have blood clotting in my ear. Kindly suggest.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Ear pain can be due to several causes ranging from infection in the middle ear, external ear, wax impaction, or eustachian tube dysfunction. It may also be referred from pathologies in other areas like the throat. To treat ear pain, we need to diagnose the exact cause, which can be accomplished from a thorough history and examination of the ear and structures around it. Do not use Ciprofloxacin drops for a prolonged period. If there is a clot in your ear, you may have otitis externa. Keep your ear dry. Do not allow even a single drop of water to enter inside. Never put earbuds or anything else inside the ear. I hope this helps. Thank you.
