Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a small solid little thing on my arm that looks like a cyst or wart that I would like to get treated. I thought it to be a pimple, so I tried to take it out with a small needle but was afraid to go deep. So, I did not achieve anything, and I just made it red. It has grown a bit over a period of eight months, and I cannot see a hair or blackhead or head on it. I would like to know what this is and how we can remove it.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I need some pictures to help you precisely. I cannot guess it by your description. Most probably, it might be an epidermoid cyst. Let me confirm when I see few pictures of it.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I have attached the images. Kindly have a look and guide me.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Yes, it is an epidermoid cyst that will have a punctum or small black dot opening at the center or at the periphery. It is not a serious one. Plan for excision or intralesional Triamcinolone injection, or intralesional cryotherapy. It grows very slowly due to the accumulation of sebum along with dead keratin cells. No topicals or oral medication will help in resolving it.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
