This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have watched porn for a long time and masturbated a lot. Now I have a girlfriend, and we want to be physical, but my penis does not make it hard I do not know what is wrong with that, but when I watch porn, it gets hard, and I masturbate, but in real life, it does not stand what should I do. I am a 27-year-old. Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Erectile dysfunction usually occurs at the age of 40 to 50 years.

In young males, erectile dysfunction is usually due to physical inactivity, hyperlipidemia, alcohol, smoking, and too much stress, anxiety, antidepressants, diabetes, hypertension, venous leak.

There are two main types of erectile dysfunction. One is psychogenic due to a sedentary lifestyle, unhealthy food, stress, anxiety, mental disturbance, etc. The other type is organic, in which there is an underlying disease.

Treatment involves behavioral changes, lifestyle changes, and certain medications. Even surgical options can be used if all other options fail.

I suggest the following investigations,

    1. Serum TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone).
    2. Serum testosterone.
    3. Serum prolactin.
    4. Doppler ultrasound penis with Caverject (Alprostadil).
    5. HbA1c (glycated hemoglobin).
    6. Fasting lipid profile.
          1. Avoid smoking, alcohol, fast food, fatty, and carbonated drinks.
          2. Exercise daily for 30 minutes.
          3. Eat red and green fruits and vegetables.
          4. Eat egg daily.
          5. Take one glass of milk daily.
          6. Do not be physical with your girlfriend. Avoid premarital and extramarital sex as it carries a very high risk of STDs (sexually transmitted diseases), even if a condom or other protection is used.

            I hope this helps.

            Kind regards.

After laboratory reports, medicines can be suggested.

I suggest,
