Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I see floaters and flashes in both my eyes for a very long time. I see flashes of light especially when I move my eyes. I had an eye dilation test but my doctor said everything is fine. But still, I see flashes and floaters in both my eyes. I am afraid due to these flashes and floaters. Please tell me what to do.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I understand your concern. There is a jelly-like substance in the eye called vitreous and as age progresses it starts to liquefy and you start seeing floaters or it also happens in high-power myopia. You should consult an ophthalmologist immediately in case there is an increase in the number of these floaters, decreased vision, or if you are seeing flashes of light. Because these are the signs of retinal detachment consult a retinal specialist and get your retina checked. I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
