What is the treatment for my facial hair and pigmentation?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have facial hair, tan, and pigmentation. Could you please suggest a skin whitening cream that works very fast?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

For tanning, I am giving you a step-by-step routine to get results fast. For your morning skincare routine:

  • Cleanse your face with a gentle cleanser, such as a ceramide-based cleanser or a mild refreshing face wash.

  • After cleansing, apply a light, fragrance-free moisturizer suitable for sensitive skin to keep the skin hydrated.

  • Finish with a broad-spectrum sunscreen with sun protection factor 50 and ultraviolet A protection grade +++, such as a Polypodium leucotomos–based sunscreen or a light gel-based sunscreen, to protect the skin daily and prevent further pigmentation and skin damage.

In the evening, after cleansing your face, apply a pea-sized amount of Kojic acid evenly over your entire face. Follow this with a moisturizer to reduce dryness and irritation. Use this treatment twice a week, as consistent use can help improve pigmentation, skin texture, and overall dullness over time.

Regarding facial hair, you need to get laser hair removal done for permanent reduction or electrolysis from your local dermatologist, as there are no creams or medications to treat this effectively so far. Also, try to manage your diet and weight if obese, as fat also causes excess hair growth on the face, along with polycystic ovary syndrome.

Try to eat fruits and avoid sun exposure as much as possible. Do exercise regularly and always wear sunscreen when you step out. Please follow this regimen consistently for at least one month to notice visible improvement.

I hope you are satisfied with my answer. For further queries, you can consult me at iCliniq.

Thank you.
