Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 53-year-old female diagnosed with uterus fibroid, and I have uterus fibroid. The fibroid was one centimeter less as compared to the previous report. I do not have my periods. Is there a need for surgery? Please suggest.

Thank you, doctor.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

The sonography report (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity) suggests a bulky uterus with a posterior wall fibroid.

However, sometimes the size of the fibroid decreases by itself after menopause. Also, medications to decrease the size of fibroids are also available.

I suggest you get the biopsy of endometrium done as the uterus is bulky.

Surgery is not a compulsion, but it depends on various factors. Surgery is needed in severe cases when there is excess pain or bleeding.

Do let me know if I can help again.

Thank you.
