Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 23-year-old female. I think when I was a kid I eat fish bone and it is stuck in my throat since then. I first feel it in my esophagus and then in my throat on the right side. I have had pus since then. It is more than 10 years now. Is it possible?

Please help me.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

It is possible to have a foreign body stuck in the throat or esophagus for a long time like years. I have seen people having pins and nails which they have ingested and remained there for 10-15 years which penetrated the esophageal wall and migrated in the tissue reaching up to the side of the neck.

But a fish bone is very rare we can say impossible because the fish bone will get dissolved over such a long period. Still, if you have doubts consult a physician for a detailed examination.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
