Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 38-year-old male. I am starting to worry that I might have the flu. I have been feeling miserable, feverish, achy all over, and with a terrible cough. Due to fatigue, I am not able to do any daily tasks. I know the flu can be serious, and I am concerned about the potential complications. Can you please advise me on what steps I should take to manage these symptoms and if there is anything I can do to prevent it from getting worse? Is there any vaccine available for this?
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
I suggest you the following suggestions:
1. Ensure plenty of rest to help your body fight the infection.
2. Drink lots of fluids.
3. Use a humidifier to ease congestion and cough.
4. Medicines upon physical examination by a doctor.
If you experience difficulty breathing, chest pain, severe weakness, or persistent high fever, you must visit emergency. Stay home and avoid contact with others to prevent spreading the flu. The flu vaccine is available and recommended annually to prevent influenza. Wash your hands frequently and avoid touching your face to prevent further infections. Eat a balanced diet.
I hope this information helps you.
