Is it normal to have frenulum bleeding during intercourse?

Bleeding from the frenulum ( a small band of tissue just below the tip of the penis ) is usually caused by some minor tearing or friction during sex. This may be due to an intrinsically tight frenulum, vigorous movement, or a lack of lubrication.

Since you are not experiencing pain, swelling, difficulty urinating, or other symptoms, it is often a minor issue that can heal on its own with proper care. Sometimes, a condition known as Frenulum Breve (tight frenulum) can cause recurrent bleeding during intercourse

Avoid sex or masturbation for two to three weeks to allow your body to heal. Clean and dry the area. Wash gently with plain water. Avoid harsh soaps. Wear loose pants to reduce friction.

If the bleeding has stopped completely and the tear looks small and superficial, it may heal without any further treatment. If you continue to bleed, if the bleeding comes back, or if you have pain, swelling, redness, or any signs of infection, you should be evaluated by a doctor or urologist.
