Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I was treated with wart removal a year back and suspected it is HPV. From that date, I was experiencing a red bump on the tip of my penis after masturbation with painful urination. After consulting the urologist, they did not find any warts in the urethra, but they found an inflammation bladder and suggested pelvic floor exercise. Currently, I have tested negative for all STDs except for HSV 1 simplex. Is the inflammation of the bladder and painful urination related to prior wart? Please help me with my problem. I am experiencing it since last year.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thanks for consulting us. Warts are skin conditions and will never be in the bladder or urethra. Inflammation of the bladder and painful urination could be secondary to STD, which is herpes simplex infection. I would recommend you to take tablet Acyclovir 40 g thrice daily for a week to treat herpes. Please follow up to update me about your condition.

If you have any more queries, please do not hesitate to ask.

Kind regards.

Hi doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

I was tested negative for HSV2 and positive for HSV1. Please check the attached test results. Is the inflammation of the bladder and painful urination related to HSV1? I cannot get over-the-counter medicine in my country.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Yes, HSV 1 can cause it. The only confirmation on diagnosis can be by biopsy from the inflamed area in the bladder. If you need a prescription, then you need to see a doctor in your country but as I know over the counter medications are the ones that do not need a prescription. If you have any more queries, please let me know.

Kind regards.

I visited doctor here and he notified me blood in urine and it could be possible prostatitis or urethritis and he observed a bit swollen in prostate. He recommended me Doxycycline 100mg and Valacyclovir 500mg(once in a day). I would like to use Doxycycline for 1st 7 days and try valacyclovir next. Please let me know your opinion on this. Should I have a follow up soon after medication ? If I get married could I pass this infection to partner and cause similar issues to her? Please suggest me.
Hi and thanks for consulting icliniq The prostatitis is another diagnosis and require treatment if your urologist diagnosed it then treatment is with antibiotics for 4 to 6 weeks. I recommend you to do semen culture after treatment. Regarding hpv it can infect your wife after marriage if you had unprotected intercourse. As there is no treatment to cure hpv. There are many people have hpv but it doesn’t proceed to cancer. In your case there are premalignant changes which verrucous formation which will not necessarily be the case with your partner if she got hpv. If you have any more queries please don’t hesitate to ask Kind regards

Thank you for your reply. I did semen culture and lab report says existence of Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria. Does this bacteria causing me painful urination all these days and how can it be transmitted to me ? Is this bacteria a life threatening? and can it pass to other parts of my body? Doctor recommended me ciproflaxcin Hcl 500 mg. Is this issue be a curable ?
Hi and thanks for follow up No doubt that the painful urination is caused by this bacteria it’s infection in the prostate and called prostatitis needs treatment with the sensitive antibiotic wether it’s cipro or other depends on ur report I can recommend if I see ur report. This infection can be transmitted from a previous urinary infection or from sexual contact. This bacteria is not life threatening unless it’s in the blood stream therefore it’s recommended to have complete treatment of 4-6 weeks of proper sensitive antibiotic. Please follow up with report to give me a clearer idea. If you have any more queries please let me know. Kind regards
