How can the infection in the cervix be fully treated?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had an infection for eight months. I went to the doctor to get abnormal cells cut off from my cervix. At that time, he told the nurse to quickly find out what kind of infection I had. He said it is not a yeast infection, and that is why over-the-counter yeast infection medications did not work. He gave me medicines for the infection. The abnormal cells were pre-cancerous and HPV (human papillomavirus).

The infection was back two weeks after the doctor gave me those medications.

What can I do to make this infection leave?

Please suggest.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your query and can understand your concern.

You got operated on for what and why? I do not understand how you can find out about cell damage by yourself. You have written about yeast infection and HPV (human papillomavirus). I think the doctor has felt that you are infected with an STD (sexually transmitted disease) or an HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) infection. At present, any of the diseases can be untreatable, though the result is positive or negative.

After reading your query, I can understand that you have a fungal infection with HIV, as your complaint has persisted for eight months. Do investigations thoroughly and do swab culture and sensitivity.

Go to a pathological laboratory, where a sterile cotton swab with a long handle can be provided for sample collection. The laboratory technician can collect the infected discharge. Consult a nearby doctor. Ask them to do an HIV test. They can draw three to 5 ml of blood. If the test result is negative, then you do not have an HIV infection.

Now, collect the swab culture when you have been asked. The swab test can give you an answer about your infection and which drug you can take.

I hope this answers your query.

Let me know if I need to assist you further.

Thank you.
