Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a fungal infection on my inner thigh and the groin region. I have a skin fungal infection around the inner thigh areas and groin. It has been there for two months, the initial treatment helped a bit, but it started again. I have had Fluconazole for only one week and Dermiford cream for 20 days to treat the fungal infection. There was a bit of relief for those days; now it is back.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. But something I want to let you know is that fungal infection is something that takes at least 4-6 weeks for the cure, so it is advisable that you complete the treatment. One more thing, nowadays, many cases of Fluconazole resistance are coming up, and Dermiford (Clobetasol, Gentamicin, Clioquinol, Ketoconazole, and Tolnaftate) is a combination cream. Combination claims to increase the chances of resistance, so you should avoid its usage and should start with pure antifungal cream. I am suggesting you some medications here, please continue this medicine for at least a period of four weeks, and after that, you can again send us a picture so that we can tell you if you can stop the treatment or not. Stopping the treatment also requires certain protocols so that it does not come back again. Take Tablet Zimig (Terbinafine) 250 mg OD (once daily), Tablet Bilaxten (Bilastine) 20 mg OD, use Lulifin cream (1 % Luliconazole) cream LABD. Additionally, you should try to maintain proper hygiene by regularly washing your clothes, trying to wear cotton clothes, and avoiding sweat work. I hope this information helps. Thank you.
