Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I have been having a shifting stomach pain near my right abdomen and a bubbling sensation in the left. I am also going to the toilet frequently.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
You can have gastritis or gastroenteritis-like condition. You can take the prescribed Lexapro as an antacid for a week. Meanwhile, avoid gastric irritants like excess spicy foods and smoking. Avoid stress as well. Cooked oatmeal helps in soothing the stomach. Meanwhile, you can be prescribed an antibiotic course if there is no improvement in a week. Maintain hydration with lots of water. Sporolac probiotics are also advisable in such cases. Suppose no improvement in one week, then a stool routine micro examination and USG (ultrasonography) scan abdomen can be made. If you have fever and vomiting, rule out typhoid by Widal test. If you have yellow-colored sclera and loss of appetite, then SGPT (serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase), and SGOT (serum glutamic-oxaloacetic transaminase) investigation is advisable.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Thank you.
