Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a concern about my penis. I have noticed an abnormality on the head of the penis, and I am concerned that it is genital herpes. Can you please advise me if it is genital herpes or not? With your expertise, what does it look like? Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your case, and yes, in my opinion, it could be a herpes infection. For confirmation, you need to go for a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test. However, I am starting treatment based on clinical pictures received and I suggest you take the following. Take tablet Acyclovir 400 mg three times a day. Take plenty of liquids. Apply Bactroban (Mupirocin calcium) ointment two times a day. Avoid friction. Take tablet Cetirizine (Cetirizine hydrochloride) 10 mg in case of burning sensation. Do reach out in case of any further questions. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
