Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 34-year-old male. Lately, I have been experiencing bleeding from my gums every time I brush, along with increased sensitivity in my teeth. Additionally, I have been experiencing shooting pains, making it uncomfortable to enjoy even a cup of hot coffee. I am desperate to understand what is happening and how to resolve it.
Despite regular brushing and flossing, it appears that my condition is worsening. Could this be indicative of a serious dental problem, and what steps can I take to prevent further damage?
Please suggest.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern.
You may be experiencing gum disease, either periodontitis (a chronic gum infection that can lead to tooth loss) or gingivitis (the earliest stage of gum disease). To address this, it is essential to visit your nearby dentist for scaling, root planing, and polishing. If any tooth has decay or cavities, it is important to undergo restoration or filling.
Additionally, regular gum massage is recommended. For one week, apply a combination gel of Lidocaine, Chlorhexidine gluconate, and Metronidazole to the affected gum areas. To alleviate sensitivity, use desensitizing toothpaste for one month. For three months, use Chlorhexidine mouthwash after brushing your teeth both times daily. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her, and take the medicines with their consent.
However, it is crucial to first visit your nearby dentist for scaling, root planing, and polishing.
Thank you for using icliniq, and have a nice day.
