Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am 59 years female. I have had redness of the sclera of both eyes for four days. I have no discharge, no watering, and no vision disturbance. I have a history of hypertension, Type 2 DM, hypothyroid, mild hyperuricemia, and two years of glaucoma. I am taking Telmisartan, Cilnidipine, Torsemide, Eltroxin, Metformin, Voglibose, Glymepride, Febuxostat, and Latanoprost ophthalmic drops. Please help.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
Can you please share a picture of both eyes to confirm the diagnosis and treatment started accordingly? Usually, patients using anti-glaucoma medication may have this redness of the eyes. Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Kindly see two images of her eyes. Should we continue with Latanoprost eye drop??
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Images (the attachments are removed to protect the patient's identity) mostly look like due to Latanoprost. But you cannot stop it directly as IOP (intraocular pressure) needs to be controlled in glaucoma patients. I suggest you visit your ophthalmologist and get it checked, and if need be, he can replace the Latanoprost with another class of anti-glaucoma medications. I hope you find it helpful. Kind regards.
