Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

In the past week, I have been having severe hair fall. Whenever I tug my hand into the hair I will get about 10 to 20 strands of hair. Hair loss during combing and showering is even too severe. My hair growth is very slow. I have significant hair fall for a long period of time. My hair has become half of what I used to have, or even lesser. It breaks my heart to see my hair falling out so much.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Hair loss can occur due to nutritional deficiency, acute illness, stress& anxiety, thyroid disorders, anemia, hereditary or hormonal problems. So eat a healthy diet rich in vitamin B7 like nuts, seed, green vegetables, eggs, sweet potato. If you have any other medical condition like anemia(low hemoglobin) or low or high thyroid hormones , you should seek treatment for these. If you were suffering from any acute illness like dengue fever or typhoid or malaria etc, after getting well, you will notice your hair growing back again after few months. If you have a widening of middle part, may be hormonal cause. If you have round patches of hair loss, it probably due to some autoimmune disease. So it’s necessary that you send a clear photograph of your scalp for further evaluation.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
