What causes terrible headaches, back, and neck pain with an increased heartbeat while doing any activity?
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 19-year-old female my height is 64.5 inches and my weight is 127 pounds. When I am showering in a standing position I feel really tired and that is my heart is beating fast so I set on the floor to relax and I suffer from upper back and neck pain with terrible headaches and when doing any physical deed even if it is small it makes me very tired and my heart starts beating fast. Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understand your concern. There are multiple possibilities like low hemoglobin, thyroid, heart issues, or anxiety related. The most likely cause appears to be low hemoglobin. Low hemoglobin or also called anemia can lead to palpitations, tiredness, and other symptoms. So I want you to get your hemoglobin checked. Also, you should check your pulse rate, especially during the episodes, if it is very high say 140 bpm to 150 bpm we will also do a cardiac test simultaneously. We may further test you for thyroid and for cardiac arrhythmias like PSVT (Paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia) or atrial fibrillation if hemoglobin is normal. So later you may need ECG (echocardiogram) which can be normal as it is usually done in between the episodes. Till the time your evaluation is complete, you can ask your local doctor for a tablet of Ciplar (Propranolol) LA 20 mg once a day. It will take care of symptoms. I hope this helps you get back if you have any more doubts.
Thank you.
